Foundation Health Partners cancels or postpones community events, classes and support groups
Following CDC recommendation of community mitigation measures and to encourage social distancing, all FHP community events, classes and support groups have been canceled through April 2020. This includes Tanana Valley Clinic (TVC), Fairbanks Memorial Hospital (FMH) and Denali Center (DC). FHP is working on creative solutions to continue education through online meetings, teleconferencing, and additional resources.
“In light of postponing our community education, be assured that FHP will continue to provide the necessary education to our patients and community partners,” said FHP Director of Education Chris Trudgen. “This may mean providing education in innovate and creative ways to ensure our patients have what they need.”
The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services is advising communities and organizations to implement protective measures outlined in the ‘preparedness phase’ of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidance on community mitigation, and to strongly consider implementing the ‘minimal to moderate’ activities outlined on page three.

“It’s important to heed this guidance from the state and CDC,” Trudgen said. “Foundation Health Partners made this mitigation decision in the best interest of our community.”
