Revenue generated by Volunteer Services (gift shop) helps purchase equipment or to enhance the services that Volunteer Services provides to the facility.

Gift Shop:
The Fairbanks Memorial Hospital Gift Shop is one of two businesses that are operated by Volunteer Services. Proceeds from the hospital gift shop are donated back to the hospital in the form of medical equipment or to enhance hospital services. Since the inception of the Volunteer Services organization in 1969, $1.9 million in equipment donations have been given to the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and Denali Center.

 Lifeline:

The Lifeline program was started in 1986 by the Volunteer Services organization to provide a medical alert service to the community of Fairbanks and surrounding areas.

This is the second of two businesses operated by the Volunteer Services program. The Lifeline program is self-sustaining; the program offers a sliding payment scale for those who qualify for assistance. The program serves over 250 community members giving them the peace of mind to remain independent in their own homes.
