Patient Food Service
Patient meals are prepared with consideration for your dietary needs. Most patients will receive a daily menu to select appropriate foods. Foods other than those in your prescribed diet (foods brought in by visitors) may conflict with a physician’s orders or with medications. Always notify your nurse before consuming meals other than those provided by the hospital.
Fairbanks Memorial Hospital provides guest wireless services for patients and their families. Simply use the "ACCT#" at the bottom of your hospital ID bracelet as both the user name and password when prompted. More detailed instructions for accessing FMH wireless are available if needed. Just ask a staff member for the wireless-information handout.
There are three parking lots for patients and guests; each lot is clearly marked.
The television is equipped with many special channels, including those that provide patient education, discharge information and hospital-services information. There’s also a relaxation channel, movies and regular television programming. Each patient bed is equipped with a pillow speaker and a television remote.
There’s a telephone available for public use in every patient room and at the information desk in the main lobby. To dial an outside number, dial 9, then the number. To reach the operator, dial 0.
Hospital volunteers make rounds throughout the hospital with the book cart, offering patients and their visitors a variety of books and magazines.
