The American Cancer Society's resource room at JMCCC is open to everyone. The resource room offers access to online resources, as well as written material and other references for reliable, current health information and education. The resource room is open to patients and their families at all times during clinic hours. Volunteers can also be available upon appointment.

Gift Closet: New and gently used wigs, turbans, hats, prosthetics and bras available free of charge at the Cancer Resource Center. Volunteers: Volunteers are available to help patients locate information pertaining to their cancer diagnosis, match them to local programs and resources, and provide support during their cancer journey. Our volunteers are trained to guide patients and families to useful resources and are able to assist with online navigation through www.cancer.org. Volunteers are able to assist with enrollment into several American Cancer Society programs, schedule and assist with other informative reading materials, and to provide a comfortable and supportive space.

Reach to Recovery: One-on-one support for women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Matches newly diagnosed patients with an American Cancer Society volunteer that has had a similar cancer journey. Phone visits only in Fairbanks. 1-800-227-2345

Patient Navigation: A JMCCC patient navigator is available to help patients, families and caregivers navigate the many programs and resources needed during the cancer journey.

Financial AssistanceGrants from the Alaska Ladies Shotgun Classic, and the Alaska Men’s Run provide lodging and transportation assistance to patients in financial need. Call (907) 458-6985 or email for more information.

Clinical Trial Matching Service: Free service assisting patient in finding clinical trials in their area.

Cancer Survivors Network: Interactive online support service for survivors and their families. Survivorship resources available, along with the opportunity to interact with other survivors. Visit www.acscsn.org for more information.
