Profile
PA Buckmeier believes teamwork and communication are essential elements of health care. She strives to deliver the highest level of updated, quality care, while making patient concerns her priority, and she works with her patients to address those concerns. Originally from Fairbanks, PA Buckmeier always enjoyed science, problem solving and working with people. She credits using the "Alaska First Aid Kit" of duct tape and super glue to take care of her dad during hunting and fishing trips as her first experiences in "medicine". Prior to earning her medical degree, PA Buckmeier worked at FMH as a certified nursing assistant, and as an endoscopy technician, and describes FMH as a giant family that works hard to support and encourage one another.  

Interests & Activities
Quality of life outside of work was a big factor in her decision to return home to take care of the community that raised her. Away from the hospital, PA Buckmeier enjoys playing hockey and lacrosse, practicing yoga, and taking bike rides. She is working on her private pilot's license and one day hopes to be involved in search and rescue missions. For personal wellness, she believes in taking time for one's self and likes to spend time away from her phone, take a walk, or try cooking a new food.
