About The Volunteer Applications Process

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at Foundation Health Partners.  By choosing to be a volunteer you will provide crucial support that is vital to our hospital and the well being of our patients. The information provided below will help you through the application process.

We provide a thorough onboarding experience and offer specialized training specific to each role. Because of this, we ask for a commitment of at least six months from our volunteers.  

Application Process

  • Application screening
  • Verification of references
  • Background check
  • Fingerprinting (17 years of age and older, conducted at volunteer orientation)
  • Informal interview with the Volunteer Services director or coordinator to determine your interests, training and availability.
  • Participation in an orientation where confidentiality, dress code and safety information are reviewed.
  • Volunteers must wear an ID badge
  • Complete necessary health screenings through Foundation Health Partners Occupational Health
  • Placement based on preferences and schedule. Every effort is made to provide you with a rewarding volunteer experience.

  3. Please download and complete the Alaska background check form.
Submit your completed application and background check forms to:

Please allow two weeks to process your application. 

Once the completed application packet is received, you will be contacted by phone to set-up an an interview with the Volunteer Services department, and your background check will be conducted. If you are a good fit for the volunteer program and our current openings, we will contact you to schedule facility orientation and position assignment with site-specific training.
