COMMUNITY VACCINATION EVENT THIS WEEKEND: There will be a Community Vaccination event at the Carlson Center this weekend, Friday, Jan. 15 and Saturday, Jan. 16 for individuals in Phase 1A and Phase 1B, Tier 1. This includes Alaskans age 65+ and health care workers. The press release announcing the details is attached. A couple things worth noting:

1. To make an appointment go to COVIDvax.Alaska.gov. or call 907-646-3322. The appointments will not appear on the site until 10am on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
2. Appointments will go quickly. There are 625 appts. for Friday and 625 appts. for Saturday. Appointments are required! There are two ways to make appointments, COVIDvax.Alaska.gov or 907-646-3322.
3. For those who call the 907-646-3322 number, leave a message if the call isn’t answered. (Heads up, the recording doesn’t immediately sound like the appointment line as it includes info re: travel restrictions.) Again, be sure to leave a message if a human doesn’t answer.
