As a vascular surgeon, Dr. Ombrellaro provides comprehensive treatment for diseases and conditions affecting peripheral arteries and veins. This includes the medical management, minimally invasive treatment, or open surgical bypass necessary for the optimal care of diseases such as aortic and peripheral arterial aneurysms, carotid artery stenosis, lower extremity PAD, renal and mesenteric arterial stenosis, and thoracic outlet syndrome. His particular interest is in the optimal utilization of minimally invasive/ endovascular treatments for peripheral vascular disease, and he has been actively involved in the research and development of aortic endograft technology since they were first introduced. He has served as an investigator for several major clinical trials and has been a national educator for endovascular skills- training physicians across the US in these types of techniques. He is the author of over 40 original articles and book chapters and holds 25 US and international patents related to medical and videogame technology.
