Profile

Dr. Nyquist grew up with parents who were educators, and his best friend's father was a primary care doctor. With these influences in his life, he knew that he wanted to have a career in the helping and healing field so that he could benefit his community in any way that he could.

As an osteopath, Dr. Nyquist believes that the person comes first rather than the "patient", or imaging results and numbers. His goal is to help people understand what might be going on with their bodies and and help them to achieve autonomy in their health, and to assist in empowering them to both help themselves, their families and their communities. He believes the benefit of hands-on osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) centers around people leaving the office in less pain than when they arrived, rather than waiting for lab and imaging results, or the results of medication.

Fluent in both Italian and French, Dr. Nyquist recognizes that we all come from different understandings and cultural backgrounds, noting that one sentence for one person might be interpreted as entirely different to another individual.     

 Interests & Activities

Away from clinic, you can find Dr. Nyquist outdoors. He may be hiking up and skiing down a mountain, or hopping in his kayak to explore the water. He also enjoys cooking, reading and writing poetry. He views exercise as not only a way to stay healthy, but a form of meditation where he is able to connect with himself and his true heartbeat, allowing the distractions of every day life disappear. Listening to and performing music also allows him to connect with himself in that way.
