Interventional Pain Management
FHP Pain Treatment Clinic
William H. Doolittle, MD
Medical Building
1919 Lathrop Street
Suite 221
Dr. Christopher Gay brings over a decade of experience in interventional pain management. He earned his MD from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill, with fellowship training in pain medicine at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
His goal is simple, to help members of our community rid themselves of chronic pain, or reduce it as much as possible, so they may lead a life without pain limiting their ability and activity. He believes the key to successful pain management is discovering the root cause of the pain, which is often inflammation, and delivering targeted treatment directly to that area to reduce that inflammation. He supports other treatment options like OMM, chiropractic care, physical therapy, and when needed surgery. However, he believes that pain medications often mask the pain, as opposed to treating it.
Dr. Gay's main outlet away from his practice is music and he plays the piano, organ or keyboard. He describes himself as an amateur musician, playing blues, jazz or gospel by ear, saying "If I can hear it, I can usually play it." His love of learning often finds him traveling to places around the world meeting people and learning about different cultures.
