With cases of COVID-19 announced in Fairbanks, there are a lot of questions and concerns from the community. Foundation Health Partners (FHP) hopes to ease those questions with educational videos and the launch of a COVID-19 hotline.

On March 15, 2020 FHP posted five short videos to Facebook. The ‘Medical Minutes’ feature an FHP provider addressing common COVID-19 concerns, such as, hand hygiene, social distancing, and what to do if you are sick.

Fairbanks, Alaska (March 16, 2020) - Foundation Health Partners (FHP), with the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS), announced two new positive cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Alaska’s first positive case was announced last Thursday; these new cases bring the total COVID-19 positive cases in Alaska to three.

Following CDC recommendation of community mitigation measures and to encourage social distancing, all FHP community events, classes and support groups have been canceled through April 2020. Denali Center (DC), a 90-bed comprehensive short- and long-term care facility located next to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and part of Foundation Health Partners, has put measures in place to safeguard its residents from the spread of the COVID-19, also known as coronavirus.
