Rich Sheridan, M.D., FAAFP, joined our 1st Care team of providers in August 2015. Dr. Sheridan comes to TVC most recently from an assignment as the Brigade Surgeon for the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, where he served as a Major in the United States Army, Medical Corps. His previous assignments as a military family physician include Battalion Surgeon, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 82nd Airborne Division; and as family medicine residency faculty and a hospitalist at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital outside of Alexandria, VA. Dr. Sheridan began his secondary education at Saint Louis University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English and minors in Urban Social Analysis, Music, and Biology. He continued his education at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine where he completed a Doctorate of Medicine in 2008. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at DeWitt Army Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, VA, which is part of the National Capital Consortium, Walter Reed Military Medical Center, and the Uniformed University of the Health Sciences.
Dr. Sheridan is board certified in Family Medicine and a fellow in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine.
Dr. Sheridan enjoys mountain biking, kayaking, and playing music.
