Profile
Dr. Dunlop spent part of his childhood in Alaska and later returned to Fairbanks with a clear purpose: to serve the community and make mental health and substance use care easier to access for people who need help.
He describes his practice style in three words—availability, kindness, and ability. Dr. Dunlop believes that psychiatric care should be recovery‑oriented, person‑centered, and trauma‑informed. He is committed to minimizing unnecessary barriers to treatment and to ensuring that people seeking care are met with responsiveness rather than delay.
Dr. Dunlop works as part of a fully collaborative, multidisciplinary team at Foundation Health Partners. Physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, and case managers work together to provide consistent, compassionate, and evidence‑based inpatient care. He collaborates closely with colleagues across the health system—including the Emergency Department and medical and surgical services—to support safe transitions, coordinated treatment, and continuity of care.
He is deeply connected to the Fairbanks community and values strong partnerships with local and regional behavioral health providers, including military and veteran partners. Dr. Dunlop is grateful to the men and women in uniform and their families for their service, and he remains committed to collaboration that strengthens access to care across Interior Alaska.
Above all, Dr. Dunlop strives to treat every patient with the dignity, respect, and compassion he would want for his own family.
