Profile

Ms. Daku was born in Washington but raised in Fairbanks, where she graduated from Lathrop High school with a soccer scholarship to the University of Montana in Missoula. Missing her Alaskan roots she returned home and completed her Bachelor of Sciences in Biology at UAF.

While completing pre-requisites for Physician Assistant school she obtained clinical hours by working as a medical assistant in a local private practice General Surgery office and also volunteered at the American Red Cross.

The MEDEX PA Program through the University Of Washington School Of Medicine is where she was first introduced to Porter Heart & Vascular Center where she initially worked in vascular surgery. She later transitioned to Cardiology and practiced cardiovascular medicine for the past 4 years. As the General Surgery Department at Foundation Health looks to grow and expand, she was excited about the new opportunity to help collaborate and establish its first APP role and provide further access to the surgical service.

Interests & Activities

Outside of work, Dayna loves prioritizing health, expanding her medical education, devoting time to family and friends, running, skiing, and fly fishing. She and her husband Levi, and their two young sons, with a daughter on the way, can be found doing just about anything outside.
