Profile
Dr. Jinich earned his M.D. from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He performed his internal medicine internship and residency at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, and his cardiovascular fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke’s. He was introduced to his specialty as a medical student during his first rotation in cardiology at Houston Methodist Hospital in the 1980’s. The rotation came during the early stages of what is now known as interventional cardiology. Dr. Jinich finds his work in the catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab) fascinating and describes the range of procedures performed there as remarkable. The notion of identifying and fixing arterial blockages, which may allow a patient to avoid bypass surgery or save a life in a critical situation, continues to inspire Dr. Jinich.
Interests & Activities
Away from his practice, Dr. Jinich relishes spending time outdoors and is thrilled to explore the natural beauty of our state, saying there is nothing like experiencing the beauty of nature. He also enjoys playing tennis or badminton and is a ‘big time’ soccer fan. You can also find him reading, traveling, listening to music, and learning to play the piano.
