Profile

Tiffany Borbón, MD, PhD is a pediatric hospitalist at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and is inspired daily by the kindness of others.

She first became interested in a career in medicine in junior high school while learning about the ongoing conflict in Darfur, Sudan. She read about a baby injured in the war, and resolved to become a doctor to provide medical care to children like that infant. Several years later, she entered a MD-PhD program and studied a parasitic disease called leishmaniasis as a graduate student in Microbiology. When she returned to medical school, she greatly admired the resilience and joy of the children even in the toughest of circumstances, and decided to pursue a career in Pediatrics. Dr. Borbón loves caring for children of all ages, and helping them thrive no matter where they are at in their growth and development.

Dr. Borbón values creating a safe space for patients and families to share their concerns and questions. She prioritizes active listening and partnering with patients and families to have a shared understanding of each diagnosis and to develop the best treatment plan in the context of their life, goals, and culture.  Dr. Borbón also has an interest in how technology can improve accessibility to medical discussions for patients and families.

Interests & Activities

Away from the hospital, Dr. Borbón loves hiking with her husband, Daniel, and their golden retriever, Naga. She also enjoys traveling, playing piano, journaling, and picking up various artistic hobbies, like painting or crocheting. Being outdoors, especially in the mountains, brings her a lot of contentment and peace.
