Profile
Shannon Smith MD, MPH is a urologist practicing with the Foundation Health Partners Urology Clinic. Dr. Smith treats a wide range of urologic conditions in both men and women, including overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), cancers of the genitourinary tract including bladder, testicular, and penile cancers, Peyronie’s disease, erectile dysfunction, and urethral stricture disease.
She is fellowship trained in reconstructive urology. She specializes in urethral structure repair, treatment of penile curvature/Peyronie’s disease, and penile prostheses for people with significant erectile dysfunction that is no longer responding to medications. She offers many options for surgical treatment of male stress incontinence including artificial urinary sphincters, slings, and adjustable balloon continence devices.
Dr. Smith practices patient-centered care through effective patient/provider communication and never sees urologic care as "one size fits all". She believes the patient is the key member of a care team and strives to present all of the best options to put them in the driver's seat to make informed decisions on their care.Interests & Activities
A self-described adrenalin junkie, you very well may find Dr. Smith jumping out of airplanes as a competitive skydiver during time away from her practice. While on the ground, she enjoys hiking, camping, reading, travel and spending time with loved ones.
