Behavioral Health

Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate behavioral health services. A secure Behavioral Health Unit within the hospital ensures a safe environment where adult patients receive acute inpatient treatment consisting of crisis intake, assessment and psychiatric stabilization. Our department’s psychoeducational group sessions help patients learn new skills and behaviors while expanding their support network.

Additionally, a multi-disciplinary treatment team of licensed psychiatrists, physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatric nurses, technicians, and behavioral health clinical professionals ensures patients are thoroughly cared for – mind, body and spirit. Treatment team members work closely with families and outpatient care providers to coordinate after-care treatment for patients whose conditions require ongoing treatment and evaluation.
