Our Pediatric and Family Medicine departments proudly support the national Reach Out and Read program, encouraging you to read daily with your child to promote early literacy. With this program, you will leave your child's Well Child Check with a book and a smile on your face, knowing we care for your child's future.

Reach out and Read is a program recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. In this program, every child age 6 months through 5 years will receive a new age-appropriate book at their Well Child Check.

PA Melissa Weight, Dr. Laura Brunner, and Dr. Mishelle Nace were instrumental in bringing this program to TVC. It is very well received throughout the community, and encourages the children (and their parents) to come back to TVC Pediatrics for their next Well Child Check (and their next book!).

PA Weight secured a grant that helped us initiate the program in 2014, with the remaining funding directly through donation (through the Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation).

TVC hopes to promote this program further by engaging our community and producing annual fundraising events to allow us to continue this program at our clinic and in our community.
