Profile:

Dr. Muhammad Ahmed completed his Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery from Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan in 1995. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship & Residency from Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ in 2003. He was also asked to serve as Chief Resident in 2003.

Dr. Ahmed completed a Fellowship from University of Wisconsin/VA Hospital in Geriatrics & Gerontology in 2004. He served as an IM/Geriatric physician for over 8 years in Platteville and Lancaster, WI. In 2009, Dr. Ahmed was elected as Chief of Medical Staff at Southwest Health Center, Platteville, WI. He pursued a Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the University of Wisconsin/VA Hospital. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. For 3 years he served as Consulting Endocrinologist for Dean Health in Madison, Baraboo and Beaver Dam communities of WI.

Interests and Activities:

The addition of Dr. Ahmed establishing an Endocrine Department with TVC. He will serve as Medical Director of the Diabetes & Nutrition Education Center at Fairbanks, AK. He is very interested in community outreach and education. He believes that life is precious; we cannot let Diabetes take away this gift from you. He will provide full spectrum adult Endocrine care, including thyroid nodule biopsies. He is married with 2 children. He and his family are looking forward to integrate in the community and discover Alaska.
