Foundation Health Partners is excited to partner with Alaska Pacific University and Alaska Hospital and Healthcare Association to offer an ACEN-accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program to Interior Alaska residents.
The program is presented in a hybrid format, with lectures offered online and recorded to give students flexibility, and in-person, hands-on instruction in simulation labs and on the floor in clinical areas. The unique curriculum is designed to develop students to provide culturally safe, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care to restore, promote, and maintain physical and mental health throughout the lifespan in various healthcare settings, including hospital, clinic, and long-term care.
Applicants to the Alaska Pacific University Licensed Practical Nursing program must have:
- Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology Course: that includes the structure and function of the human body with an emphasis on gross anatomy and all organic systems and their relationship to homeostasis. (Additional courses, including Human Biology or Anatomy & Physiology with Lab may be accepted to complete this requirement.) If you have questions on a specific course, please reach out to admissions@alaskpacific.edu
- Clinical Experience: Show proof of completion of one of the following: Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA), Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Health Aid, ETT, CHAP (must be 2 or higher) Paramedic, EMT, or Dental Heath Aid. Other experience may be accepted dependent on Nursing Department review.
- Submit official final high school transcript or official copy of GED score report. Required if you have less than 30 college credit hours to be submitted.
- Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, including any hours earned while in high school.
