Foundation Health Partners welcomes job shadow requests from individuals in our community who are interested in exploring healthcare careers. Job shadow experiences offer the opportunity to observe a healthcare professional in an area of interest for up to one full day.

While we make every effort to accommodate job shadow requests, placement in specific departments or roles is not guaranteed and is subject to availability, operational needs, and required approvals. The length of each job shadow experience may vary and is determined by the hosting professional.

High school students interested in exploring healthcare careers are encouraged to participate in one of our structured learning programs. These include:

• Summer High School Internship Program – a five-week summer internship

• Foundations in Healthcare Intensive – a 40-hour course completed during spring break

• Community education events offered in partnership with the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District

These programs are designed to provide meaningful exposure to healthcare settings while supporting student learning and safety.

Individuals interested in shadowing a healthcare provider (MD, DO, NP, or PA) are welcome to do so with the support of a provider who is willing to host them. To help ensure a smooth and positive experience, please complete the Healthcare Career Shadow - Provider (MD/DO/NP/PA-C) request form.
