We offer crucial clinical rotation experiences, which are essential for the development of budding clinicians, and engage students in career exploration activities and fairs. Job Shadow Days
Job shadowing helps aspiring healthcare professionals understand the different roles and environments they may work in, shaping their career decisions and educational paths. FHP Talent Development offers monthly Job Shadow Days.
HOSA
HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services, whose mission is to empower its members to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience. FHP and Interior AHEC are active with the HOSA Future Health Care Professionals clubs in the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District.
Nurse Graduate Residency Program
Nursing Graduate Residency programs help new hires confidently transition from student to nurse. These positions are perfect for brand-new graduates and those with less than one year of clinical experience. FHP offers graduate nurse residency programs in ambulatory and acute care.
Professional Internships
A paid college internship is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to a student's field of study. FHP offers Professional Internships in areas based on programs in the University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Business and Security Management and UAF CTC Information Technology degrees and certificates.
Project SEARCH
This one-year School-to-Work transition program is business-led and takes place entirely in a work setting. It provides work experience and training in employability and independent living skills. Project SEARCH serves individuals 18-22 years of age who have disabilities and are currently served through an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Nurse Student Technician
The Nurse Student Technician program allows nursing students to practice and expand their skills under licensed nursing professionals' direct supervision and mentorship. Positions are open to BSN students only from the University of Alaska Anchorage or programs approved by FHP Talent Development.
Summer High School Internship Program (SHIP)
The Summer High School Internship Program (SHIP) is an excellent way for high school students to gain experience in a career they want to pursue. Interns spend one 5-week placement over the summer at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, Denali Center, or Tanana Valley Clinic. A multitude of departments participate yearly.
Current Healthcare Program Students
Foundation Health Partners and Interior AHEC support allied health, laboratory sciences, nursing, and medical students from various schools. FHP Talent Development/Interior AHEC processes students for clinical rotation placements and supports FHP Medical Staffing in the placement of medical residents.

Denali Center CNA Trainee Program
The Denali Center CNA Trainee program is a full-time, paid, 4-week training program consisting of a minimum of 60 hours of classroom instruction and 80 hours of clinical experience hours. Upon completion, participants are qualified to sit for the State of Alaska's Nurse Aide Certification.
Practical Nurse Certificate - Alaska Pacific University
Alaska Pacific University and Foundation Health partners offer a hybrid-format ACEN-accredited Practical Nurse certificate program at the Denali Center. This one-year program starts every fall.
